Jason Tyne-Zimmerman is an improviser and director who currently makes his living as the director of education of Burning Coal Theatre.

He lived in New York City from 2001-2012, while there he was a member of the improv groups Queen of Sharks, Shark and Man/Wolf/Rooster.

Jason started doing short form improv at the Tyler School of Art. He then moved on to studying with ComedySportz Philadelphia and the UCB Theater in New York City. He first started performing improv at the People's Improv Theater with the Queen of Sharks show Special Ops and then had a two-year run at Identity Bar with the Queen of Sharks's CHOMPetition.

Jason has an MA in Educational Theater from NYU and an MFA in Directing from Northwestern University. He currently lives in Cary, NC with his wife Rebecca Tyne-Zimmerman.
