James Rich is an improviser, actor and writer who primarily performs at The Peoples Improv Theatre with Sidviscous, a house team of the theater. He has studied levels 1 through 5 at The PIT as well as a ton of elective classes. He was a member of the legendary Aztec Bacon and also freelance acts and writes with the sketch group Gay Christ Figures in Cinema, primarily on their sitcom show.

James has also performed improv with Stilted on Stage, who sold out Carolines in Times Square. He has written and produced off off broadway shows and worked backstage with Blue Man Group and also warmed up audiences at Blue Man Group as a Tubetalker. He also performs with Interborough Rep in their PowerPlays Law School Training Program.

Originally from Nashville, TN, James got bit by the acting bug late in high school and majored in Theater Arts while attending The University of the South. While in college, he studied acting for 9 months at The Michael Howard Studios in Chelsea.

James has studied acting and improv with a wide array of talented teachers and performers including Ali Farahnakian, Deborah Kampmeir, Faye Simpson, Dr. David Landon, Kurt Braunholer, Ptolemy Slocum, Matt Donnelly, Kevin Scott, Chris Grace, Kimmy Gatewood, Pat Shay, and Dion Flynn, among others.
